ART: Art & Artists Research for Drawing & Painting Courses (2021)

A guide for students in Elise Schweitzer's courses, created by arts Librarian Maryke Barber

OneSearch: Books, Articles, Films & More

Tips

Foreign surnames may be spelled more than one way (Titian = Tiziano).  Use Grove/Oxford Art Online to find variant forms/spellings.

Individual works of art may be referred to by their title in the original language, or in English.

To combine them in a search, set each phrase in quotation marks and add a capitalized OR in between:

"sleep of reason" OR "sueno de la razon"

If Hollins Doesn't Have It

You can request books, films, and articles the library doesn't own via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

ILL takes approximately 2-4 days for articles, 1-3 weeks for books and films.

For more information on how ILL works, watch this video.
