While searching for your artist's name in OneSearch, try adding the following words:

  • Catalogs
  • Exhibitions
  • Criticism and interpretation (for books discussing an artist's work)

Terms for Figure Painting and drawing:

  • Figure drawing, painting
  • Figurative Art
  • Human Figure in Art
  • Women/Men in Art
  • Nude in Art
  • Male/Female Nude in Art;

Other Useful Art Subject Terms

  • Landscape drawing, painting
  • Portrait drawing, painting
  • Portraits
  • Still-life drawing, painting

Or Thematic Terms:

How do I know if a book has illustrations?

Look  in the "Details" section for:

"Phys. Desc. 1 v. (unpaged) : ill. (some col.), ports. ; 27 cm"

ill. = illustrations.        col. = color.
