LC Call Numbers & Subject Headings
Books are arranged in the library by call number. Call numbers are given to books based on their subjects. Thus, you can expect to find various books on your topic within a given call number range. Either online (by browsing subject headings or call numbers) or in the stacks (by looking around a particular call number or book), you can take advantage of these groupings of like items.

Please note that GWS is a very interdisciplinary field so books on women's health will be most likely located in the Rs. Books on women in political science may be located in the J's.
Books that take intersectional approaches (e.g., gender and race, gender and class) may be classified in the HQs, or may be in a different LC subject area.
