Book or Article Not Available at Hollins? Expand your search with Interlibrary Loan

You can request articles, books, or chapters of books, at no cost: the Interlibrary Loan service can get these for you from other libraries.

Use the library's OneSearch system:

  1. Make sure you're logged in to OneSearch with your Hollins username and password.
  2. Choose "Click here to expand my search," then
  • If you see an item you want, follow the links to "Get it for me from other libraries" or,
  • Or, if you know the exact title you're looking for, use the "Submit a request" link.

Average time required:

  • 2-4 business days for article and chapter requests. (they are usually e-mailed to you).
  • 1-2 weeks for whole book requests.

Find Full Text

From OneSearch

From a database (such as EBSCO)

  • Click on the Find At Hollins link (scroll down for video)

Look at the results: do we have the journal?

  • Do we have it in print or online (or both?)
  • Do we have it for the year you need?

  • Newer issues of journals are in the reading room (1st floor)
  • Older issues of journals are on he ground floor

If we do not have the journal at all, or just don't have the year you need...

  • Use Interlibrary Loan to get the article: scroll up to follow the instructions.

What if an article isn't full text in my database?

When you're looking at an article but there is no full text: click on the "Find at Hollins" Button. The video below shows you what you'll see:
