LexisNexis Tips

Using LexisNexis is more difficult than using Google News.  The advantage is that the content in LexisNexis is of a higher quality than Google News, meaning their content is more credible.  Keep in mind that all newspapers have editorials or opinion based pieces (op-ed), meaning you still need to evaluate every resource (for more information look at the "What's a Good Source" tab).  Here are a few tips to help you with searching LexisNexis.

Remember to select the News tab on the left when searching.  You can then narrow your search down even more by selecting one of the options within the news section.

Often times a search can generate thousands of results.  In addition to adjusting keywords, you can also limit the date range and sources

On the results page you can narrow down your results by category on the left side, sort your results in a specific order (the circle in the middle), and you can use the options at the top right to print, email, or save results.
