Book not available at Hollins? Use Interlibrary Loan

You can request articles, books, or chapters of books, at no cost: the Interlibrary Loan service can get these for you from other libraries.

Use the library's OneSearch system:

  1. Make sure you're logged in to OneSearch with your Hollins username and password.
  2. Choose "Click here to expand my search," then
  • If you see an item you want, follow the links to "Get it for me from other libraries" or,
  • Or, if you know the exact title you're looking for, use the "Submit a request" link.

Average time required:

  • 2-4 business days for article and chapter requests. (they are usually e-mailed to you).
  • 1-2 weeks for whole book requests.

How to know if your play has been published

Search these sites to verify that a play has been published. Then use the Hollins Interlibary loan system: request to borrow a copy for free.

Other methods for finding plays:

  • Search online: in your search include the word "script" (for musicals, also try "libretto")
  • Try searching for a PDF
  • Find the playwright, director, or other artist involved in the production and ask for a script;
  • Find a theater that has done a production, and ask for a script.
