Comm101: Intro to Communication Studies 2020: Reference: For Topic Overview

Using Reference Books

Most of the books listed are located in our Reference Collection on the first floor (exceptions are noted). Our reference collection is an excellent place to start your research on any topic. These materials will provide an overview, helping you understand the issues, and often provide a reference list of key sources you might wish to pursue.

Keep in mind:

  • Reference books may not be checked out (to ensure they are available for all to use).
  • You may scan/copy entries from reference books in the library.
  • Many of these books are available full text online in a library database; simply click on the title link to get to a PDF of the encyclopedia.
